Integrated Braking System (IBS)

Chapter 4 · Manual page 206

Your vehicle is fitted with the latest Integrated Braking System (IBS), please read the following carefully:

  1. The IBS only functions with the power system in READY mode or operational. NEVER allow the vehicle to freewheel with the power system turned off.
  2. If the power system is turned off while driving, you should firmly press the brake pedal, and stop the vehicle as quickly as traffic safely permits. If necessary, please contact the Authorised Repairer for service.
  3. If the IBS performance degrades due to a low battery or other reasons, you need to apply more force to the brake pedal to brake effectively.
  4. When driving on waterlogged roads or in heavy rain, a water film may form on the surface of brake disc, which easily reduces the braking efficiency and extends braking distance. In this case, keep a safe distance from other vehicles and intermittently apply the brake pedal to keep the brake disc surface dry.
  5. If the braking efficiency decreases due to vehicle failure, please contact an Authorised Repairer for service as soon as possible. Brake Response Mode The system feature 3 braking modes. When the vehicle is stationary, the user can customize the corresponding brake mode on the central screen as required.
  6. Comfort: The braking response is moderate and the pedal feel is moderate.
  7. Standard: The braking response is normal and the pedal feel is normal.
  8. Sport: The braking response is sensitive and the pedal feel is sensitive.

If the brake pedal is pressed or any of the Stability Control System (SCS)/Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)/Traction Control System (TCS) is triggered, the switching between braking response modes cannot be completed immediately.

Braking Energy Recovery IBS supports brake energy recovery. When the brake pedal is pressed for braking, the system will determine the driver’s demand for braking force. The drive motor will convert the vehicle’s kinetic energy into electrical energy, which is stored in the high voltage battery for vehicle deceleration. This process can improve the range of the vehicle.
