Driving Range
Chapter 1 · Manual page 13
The driving range of your vehicle depends on many factors, these include the available power, vehicle age (current remaining battery life), weather, temperature, road conditions and driving habit etc.
- The driving range is related to the depth of discharge (DOD). When the low battery warning lamp of high-voltage battery pack on the instrument pack illuminates, please recharge the battery as soon as possible to avoid high DOD affecting the performance the high voltage battery pack.
- The actual driving range of the vehicle will reduce with the increase of vehicle age.
- The use of air conditioning will reduce the driving range.
- The driving range varies with the speed.
- When the vehicle is used at low temperatures, the driving range will decrease due to temperature characteristics of the battery.
- In cases of extreme temperature and low battery, weak acceleration or lack of power may occur due to battery characteristics. The driving range can be increased by:
- Having the vehicle maintained regularly;
- Maintaining the correct tyre pressures;
- Using the vehicle as little as possible in extreme high or cold temperatures.
- Recharging the vehicle after use, without parking for a long period of time in winter.
- Reducing the vehicle load by removing unnecessary items;
- Turning off high-power electrical appliances such as the air conditioning, or adjusting the heating or cooling base temperature as necessary to minimise the energy consumption and increase the driving range.
- Closing the windows when the vehicle is traveling at a high speed, so as to reduce air resistance as well as power consumption.
- Keeping a steady speed.
- Depressing the accelerator pedal as lightly as possible while accelerating.
- Releasing the accelerator pedal while decelerating; under certain conditions when not applying the brake or gently applying the brake, the kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) will extend the driving range.
