Gear Shift
Chapter 4 · Manual page 198
Do not press P gear button whilst in motion.
Whilst the vehicle is moving, do not move the shift lever from D to R or P gear, , this may cause damage to the electric drive units or cause an accident.
The shift lever is a sprung lever switch that rests in the middle steady-state position, pushing the lever up or down against the spring
accesses two non-steady-state positions.
P: Park
In this position, the vehicle will be locked. Please select this gear when the vehicle is stationary.
- Press the P gear button at the end of the shift lever to shift into P gear.
- Switch of the power supply to automatically shift into P gear.
- With the brake pedal released, the driver seat belt unfastened and the driver’s door open, the vehicle will shift to P gear automatically. P (Park) is the initial gear position when the vehicle is first placed in READY mode. When switching to R, D and N gears, the brake pedal needs to be pressed. R: Reverse This gear should only be selected when the vehicle is completely stationary and the driver has a willingness to drive backwards. Press the brake pedal, move the lever fully upwards against spring pressure and the vehicle will shift into Reverse gear. The design of the shift lever means that when released after selection, the lever will return to the middle steady-state position. N: Neutral Only select this gear when the vehicle is stationary (for example, waiting at traffic lights).
- With the vehicle in P gear, press the brake pedal, push the shift lever up or down to the first non-steady state position, and the vehicle will shift into Neutral gear.
- With the vehicle in D gear, push the shift lever up to the first non-steady state position, and the vehicle will shift into Neutral gear. Note: When vehicle speed is above a certain value, and the vehicle is switched from D gear to N gear, the lever must be held in the N gear selection position for 1s to shift into N gear.
- With the vehicle in R gear, push the shift lever down to the first non-steady state position, and the vehicle will shift into Neutral gear. D: Drive It is used for normal driving.
- With the vehicle in P/R/N gear, press the brake pedal, push the lever fully downwards against spring pressure, and the vehicle will shift into Drive gear. The design of the shift lever means that when released after selection, the lever will return to the middle steady- state position.
